A caregiver, by definition, is anyone who assumes responsibility for someone else. Most often, this is a challenging task. Whether you are a family caregiver or have chosen the field as your career, it takes a selfless individual to endure the day to day challenges of taking care of someone. But who is taking care of the caregivers?
Hope Grows a non-profit agency dedicated to “taking care of caregivers” will be hosting an annual event entitled “Celebrating You”, On Wednesday, October 21, 2020. The FREE event will be virtual for the first time and is designed solely to reflect their mission of empowering family caregivers to seek wellness of mind, body and spirit.
Lisa Story, the agency’s Founder and Executive Director believes that by providing awareness to the importance of therapeutic support services, such as physical and emotional wellness activities as well as periodic respite, the caregivers will become motivated to take care of themselves. Lisa’s personal caregiving story inspired her to create the program which has most recently included making her own home into a respite house for caregivers.
Lisa’s mission is successfully spreading throughout the area and has gained the support of local corporations and agencies who believe in supporting the caregivers’ well-being. Star Multi Care and its family of Companies has joined the Hope Grows’ crusade and is a proud supporter of this year’s event. If you are interested in volunteering to support any of the agency’s efforts please visit www.hopegrows.net or Celebrating You for more information on sponsoring the Celebrating You event.
